Virtual Legal Challenge - Right to Privacy and Data Protection: Prospects and Challenges

IE Law School is pleased to invite you to our Virtual Legal Challenge on July 23rd at 10.00h CET.

 

For those of you interested in studying a master program at IE Law School, don’t miss out on this opportunity to win a scholarship for one of our programs.

 

The legal case that participants must solve, will focus on law and technology and the new trends in data protection. Students will have an introductory master class with Professor Antonios Kouroutakis where we will explore:

  • Basic features and key aspects of the General Data Protection Regulation.
  • The legal challenges that arise with data mostly related to data property, security, and data protection laws.
  • Key business models in relation to data collections and processing: from cloud to blockchain, from analytics to artificial intelligence and robotics.

 

After the session you will receive the case and must solve it in 48h, sending your answer to admissions.law@ie.edu. Please include your name and surname + LLM Challenge as the email subject. The winner will be granted a 30% scholarship applicable towards the tuition fees of one of the following programs:

  • Master in Global Corporate Compliance (Full-Time & Part-Time).
  • Executive LLM
  • LLM in International Business Law
  • Master in Legal Tech

 

Our speakers

Assistant Professor at IE University in Madrid

Dr. Antonios Kouroutakis is Assistant Professor at IE University in Madrid, and he has taught a variety of law courses and conducted research at many univesitys arround the world. Dr. Kouroutakis is interested in the concept of separation of powers, rule of law, emergency legislation, and the regulation of newtechnologies; he has published widely on these topics in international and peer reviewed journals.
