In the session on Leadership in Digital Era, Irma Papaleo will explore how digital transformation is redefining leadership across marketing, business, and innovation. She will share practical insights and real-world examples drawn from her professional experience and the work with students at IE.

The discussion will focus on the skills, mindsets, and human qualities needed to lead effectively in an increasingly complex, tech-driven world — including how to navigate the challenges of AI and stay competitive as a professional in this evolving landscape. 

Professor Biography 

Passionate about digital innovation and marketing strategy, Irma Papaleo brings over 15 years of experience leading business transformation across top-tier global organizations. She currently serves as Head of Websites and Digital Operations at Amadeus and is the Academic Director of the Master in Digital Marketing at IE Business School. Irma began her career at the Audi-Volkswagen Group as a Digital Marketing Specialist and went on to lead strategic digital transformation projects at Accenture Interactive for nearly a decade. She later held senior product roles at British Airways and Iberia, driving large-scale digital initiatives in the travel sector.

A strong believer in bridging strategy with execution, Irma combines hands-on expertise with academic rigor. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication from Università degli Studi di Siena, a Master's in Marketing and Communication from Bocconi University, and has completed executive education programs at Columbia University and Universidad Complutense.
