Moderated by IE University's North American Associate Director for Alumni & Careers, Matthew Davis, the conversation will help you understand what tomorrow’s leaders need to know.

Sonia Storer, Director of Talent Acquisition & Development, BBVA Compass

Sonia has served in the banking industry for 24 years and 20 years at BBVA Compass, beginning her career as a part-time teller while attending St. Mary’s University. She has held multiple front-line, support and leadership positions at BBVA Compass having had the opportunity to work in challenging, complex and dynamic Agile modeled work environments.  Since early in her career, Sonia has served under multiple Heads of Retail Banking leading the Sales Management & Branch Development Strategy transforming the Retail Banking business model to include incentive design, training strategy, performance management and productivity development. In May of 2017, Sonia joined Talent & Culture as the Director of Talent Acquisition and Development focusing on all Talent Solutions to include internal and external recruiting, learning and talent management.  She is Chairperson of Women in Leadership - Houston, a new Business Resource Group developed last year at BBVA Compass to reinforce the commitment of diversity & inclusion fostering a culture, which values the professional development and career advancement of all employees.  She is the dedicated mother of three active and accomplished children ages 9, 16 and 20. Her passion is staying active with her children’s extra-curricular, volunteer contributions and academic activities. She is also very dedicated to her fitness regime.

Echo Green, IE Alumna & Global Executive Leadership Advisor, Allen Austin

Echo is a partner and co-lead in the firm’s Technology, Media and Telecom practice. With a diverse background in media, technology and telecommunications as well as venture capital and private equity, Echo conducts C-Suite level and senior management searches across the sector and assists with organizational leadership solutions imbedded in the firm’s Total Performance Leadership architecture.  She has extensive experience in marketing, media, technology, software, entertainment, mobility and branding in both large corporations and startups. Strategizing and executing digital transformation across segments has been a continued piece of her work. She has staffed, managed and developed teams across the globe helping build collaboration and purpose.  She has spent large amounts of time spent in Moscow, Madrid, LA and NYC. She holds a Global Executive MBA from IE University.  Traveling the world has kept Echo busy as she enjoys food and cultures. Echo serves on the leadership team for Boxes of Blessings, runs adult and kids soccer leagues, and leads children and adult choirs.

Carmen Herrada, President, Casa de España de Houston

Carmen guides American companies seeking to expand into new markets and facilitates this process. Carmen also leads International companies in the process to establish in the US, and in minding the cultural gap.  Originally from Spain, educated in Belgium, Singapore and the US, Carmen has expansive global experience and very keen cultural awareness. She has held different management roles in leading manufacturers, building companies from scratch in Tokyo and Singapore. Successfully deployed significant reorganizations in Australia and the Middle East.  A proud Texan by adoption, she spends her free time sitting on the board of cultural nonprofits
