Bridging economics and international relations for the 21st century

Economics and international relations are a continuum of disciplines with blurred lines of separation. The rapid changes in the economy and society require professionals that can overcome and anticipate solutions to understand today’s increasingly complex economy with a long-term sustainable view. These professionals will be bridging between economics and politics, governments and markets, economic diplomacy and trade, among others. With a deep understanding of economics, geopolitics, and international relations, these professionals are in the unique position to drive a positive impact at all levels of an organization—whether in the public, private, or non-profit spheres. Join us in our upcoming event, where experts in the field will discuss how modern economics and international relations are redefining diverse industries, sectors, and businesses. This event will mark the launch of IE University's new Dual Degree in Economics and International Relations, which aims to equip students with the skills necessary to excel and thrive on the global stage while designing innovative solutions to today’s social and economic challenges.

Three special guest speakers will be leading the conversation:

  • Manuel Muñiz: Secretary of State for Global Spain, Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • Adriana Hoyos: IE professor and Senior Fellow at Harvard University.
  • Enestor Dos Santos: Principal economist at BBVA.
