Human Resources has traditionally been perceived as a rather administrative function dealing with pay, sick-leave, complaints and the occasional hiring activity. In short, many individuals would say that HR offers limited and one-sided career paths (which in several instances might have been true) – will I be stuck in one specific lane if I decide to choose or further a career in HR? In the past few years, HR has evolved in parallel with an evolving business reality in which CEOs are shifting more of their focus over to the people and behavior aspects of their organizations, and buzzwords such as engagement, happiness, motivation, well-being and culture are being linked to HR’s role in future business.
