Master Class Lyon "Fintech: AI and Disruption in the Financial Sector, Opportunities in Times of Uncertainty"
Master Class
Master Class Description
Periods of uncertainty often accelerate innovation, and the financial sector illustrates this dynamic clearly. In the context of geopolitical tensions, countries and regions such as Brazil and the European Union are reassessing their financial ecosystems to reduce dependence on U.S. and other global incumbents in critical infrastructure, including Visa and Mastercard in payments or BlackRock’s iShares in ETFs. Initiatives such as central bank digital currencies, CBDCs, reflect a broader push for financial sovereignty, supported by political backing for new technologies and alternative business models.
At the same time, artificial intelligence, tokenisation and predictive markets, among the fastest growing segments of the industry, are creating significant opportunities for disruption and structural change. Their expansion is unfolding alongside increasingly complex regulatory frameworks, making the interaction between innovation and oversight a central issue for the sector.
