PEOPLE! Critical Reflections on Human-Centred Design.

Prof Sadie Morgan’s lecture will discuss multi-scaled solutions in design, establishing levels of value that integrated design can bring to a future of sustainable development. Positioning design as an agent of sustainability at all scales, the lecture will include case studies from individual projects to nation-wide infrastructure, illustrated through Morgan’s spectrum of roles and range of experience. Prof Morgan will share experiences from her personal practice, demonstrating the interconnectedness in the role of sustainable design with each tier of industry and practice connected with the built environment. Her talk will also focus on non-architectural aspects of developing sustainable design, highlighting the role of strategy, research and joined up thinking. For this she will again draw examples from her experience organising and chairing focus and advisory groups that have given voices to a spectrum of thinkers, designers, and researchers at different levels of industry.
