Mariolina Bassetti graduated in French Literature from La Sapienza University of Rome and joined Christie’s in 1987. She became Head of Modern and Contemporary Art in Italy in 1995 and launched the renowned Italian Sale, now the Thinking Italian Sale. As Chairman of Continental Europe for Post-War & Contemporary Art, she has led strategy, client growth, and record-breaking sales, cementing Christie’s leadership in 20th-century Italian art.
