About the speaker
Claudio Orrego Larraín is a lawyer from the Catholic University of Chile and a Master in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He began his political career in 1996 as councilman in the municipality of Peñalolén. Later, in 2000, he became biminister of the Ministry of Housing and Urbanism and the Ministry of National Assets of President Ricardo Lagos. Subsequently, he would become mayor of Peñalolén between 2004 and 2012 and Intendant of the Metropolitan Region (2014-2018). He is currently the first elected Regional Governor of the Metropolitan Region.
