The financial plan in M&A transactions
Strategic Corporate Finance
From IE Business School,
We are pleased to invite you to a webinar led by Javier García, professor of the Strategic Corporate Finance program, who will share his expert insights on a key topic in corporate finance: the financial planning process in M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) transactions.
Effective planning is critical when assessing the acquisition of a company, as it enables a thorough analysis of both the feasibility and profitability of the transaction. A robust financial plan provides clarity on: Revenue and expense projections, capital expenditures, working capital requirements, and ultimately, the expected cash flows.
This analysis supports the valuation of the target company and helps identify potential financial risks, synergies, and opportunities for optimization during the post-merger integration phase.
Moreover, a well-structured financial plan is essential for designing the financing structure—whether through debt, equity, or a combination of both—ensuring the acquisition is financially sustainable and strategically aligned in the long term.
In this session, we will delve into how to tailor the financial plan based on the specific characteristics of different types of corporate transactions.
