Climate Change: How to Address the Economic, Social and Developmental Implications
Join IE on June 23rd!
Join IE face to face on June 23th in the city centre of Vienna for an event that features expert Artur Appleton who will share many helpful insights on climate change. There is no fee to attend and there will be time for you to connect with other ambitious professionals in Vienna, too. The session will be followed by a networking cocktail where you can meet IE representatives and the speaker.
During this session, we will discuss how the economic, social, and developmental implications of climate change are already upon us. Almost half of the planet’s population live on or near a coastal region. In addition, inland populations are also experiencing changes in weather patterns. Regardless of wealth, climate change is affecting almost everyone.
Our political leaders failed us at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) and in the short term they will continue to do so. Many politicians in the rich countries lack the political will to address climate change. The poor countries lack the economic means. How then can we influence the political process and protect future generations?
This lecture will explore creative means of addressing climate change and mitigating the economic, social, and developmental catastrophes that lie ahead. Views from the audience will be welcome.
