It is no secret that from the 10 top performing companies in 2019, more than half are tech companies that happen to be prominent traders in goods and services through digital platforms. This shift in paradigm has triggered governments to rethink their regulatory priorities to pay more attention to e-commerce and e-trade and take international trade disciplines beyond traditional trade in goods and services.
Fernando Aparicio Varas has almost 20 years of experience in international sales and information systems, having held positions in companies like PayPal, Gaston & Daniela, and TB Security. He also founded the IT security consultancy firm COVERSEC. Fernando is Chair of the Department of Information Systems Risks at IE. His research areas are e-commerce, information security, juridical and economic aspects of the Internet, Tech Law, and Internet means of payment.
