Building the New Economy: Distributive Capitalism

This one hour class will consider the viability and future of distributive capitalism in the context of critical debates surrounding sustainability, climate change and economic justice and inclusion.
Using current events (news and academic articles) and an interactive discussion-based class environment, we will focus especially on the value of an alternative distributive capital model for developing economies, such as are found in Sub-Saharan Africa.  In this one-hour session we will touch on employee ownership and other models of ownership that reduce inequality, facilitate the democratization of wealth and therefore cause firms to approach their strategy and operations with a multi stakeholder lens.
