IE Masterclass. Venture capital funding in times of global distress - Paolo Giancane. Post-Pandemic Business Insights Se

We would love for you to join our Post-Pandemic Business Insights Series – ‘ Venture capital funding in times of global distress’ by Professor Paolo Giancane.

Even before the global health emergency was declared in late January, VC funding had started to cool and investors were already losing their appetite for money losing companies.

Large investors in private and equity markets, crossover investors, allocate investments across asset classes with different risk profiles, with venture and startup investments generally making up only a small part of their portfolios. When markets turn, these investors often reshuffle allocations away from risk, moving away from riskier bets like startups.

This master class will provide an overview on how the venture capital funding is impacted by the corona virus pandemic, which investment sector is more likely to experience more outflows and what we can learn from the SARS outbreak back in 2002 on the Asian private market funding.
