IE Talks: From Stoicism to Complex Problem Solving: How data & people can save the world

Uncertainty has surrounded humankind since the beginning of time. Through decision-making rooted in instincts, emotions, facts, and data, humans have unknowingly created the intricate world where we live today.

As technology has drastically evolved over the last centuries, we must ask ourselves:

  • What can we tell about the kind of world we are building now?
  • How can we leverage technology with the intention of making good decisions within complex environments?
  • How can we solve problems we have never confronted before?

Through linking knowledge developed by Greek philosophers to the modern Complex Problem-Solving theory, we will discuss how data and people can challenge today’s most pressing issues.
