During this class we will address the main concepts related to this work process, methodologies and human-centered techniques to solve problems in a creative and innovative way. Design thinking is more than just a process, it opens up a new way of thinking, and it offers several hands-on methods to help you apply this new mindset.
Focused on humans first, Design Thinking seeks to understand people's needs in order to come up with creative and innovative proposals to approach this problem-solving.

Professor Julia López Varela is an executive with more than 15 years of experience in entrepreneurship, social innovation, education, feminism, arts and cultural affairs. She is the co-founder of Ultrazul, consulting firm in strategic design and architecture and is a lecturer at several business schools. She was Director of Corporate Relations and Social Innovation in the Madrid City Hall and CEO at Impact Hub Madrid. She has also worked for the Embassy of Spain in Rome (Italy), Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and international cooperation in Mexico. Right now her work focuses heavily on ecology, circular economy and exchange systems between rural and urban contexts, particularly related to education, social change and sustainability.
