Money Heist: A storytelling success
How the power of storytelling helped an international crime story go viral
A Dali mask, red coveralls, and names of cities have little meaning independently. Combined, these elements in the internationally acclaimed Netflix Series, Money Heist, transformed into symbols. This binge worthy series became a global phenomenon, but it did not start out that way.
What is it that made this go series viral? Was it data analysis and targeted marketing? Or was there something much deeper at play?
Professor Brian Hallett believes this show became a global sensation due to its powerful storytelling through the use of imagery, symbolism, branding and exciting archetypal characters that anyone can relate to. In this workshop, we will explore the power of storytelling to drive human action, learning, adaptation and innovation. This session will analyze the power that a clever and imaginative story can have, defining storytelling as the most powerful technology that human beings possess.
