Stakeholder Capitalism in an Automated World - Canada

As global inequality grows and humanity awakens to the existential crisis of climate change, the social contract between business and society continues to weaken.
There is growing pressure on companies to raise the bar on their environmental, social and governance performance, and develop an authentic social purpose beyond mere profit generation.
Meanwhile, as the fourth industrial revolution progresses, digital technologies are rapidly and radically changing the role of humans in the workplace. Much work is set to disappear through the impact of mass automation and roboticization.
There is little doubt that advancing the “future of work” transition is likely to exacerbate existing social inequity and disparities.
What does this mean for the relationship between business and society, in the context above? How might companies develop a resilient approach to balancing people, planet, and 21st century corporate innovation, in order to thrive while meeting the ever-growing public expectations of the stakeholder capitalism movement?
Please join IE Business School and IE North America for an insightful exploration of these fundamental questions, featuring leaders in key industries that shape our future.
