Biographies:
Sophia Sampaio Teixeira do Amaral is the Executive Director at the IE School of Humanities. Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, she has lived in New Zealand, Spain, and China, gaining extensive experience in international education. She holds a Master’s in International Business from Hult Business School completed in China, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Nottingham, and a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Livia Aluisi Cucatto holds a degree in Languages from UFSCar and pursued an academic career, completing a master's and a doctorate in the fields of Human Language and Technology and Linguistics (USP São Carlos/UFSCar and Unicamp). With over 20 years of experience, she has worked simultaneously in the field of Education as a professor and in the field of Technology as a computational linguist, being one of the first professionals registered in this occupation in Brazil. As a computational linguist, she has worked in the broad field of AI, specifically in the subfield of Natural Language Processing (Speech Synthesis and Recognition, Readability, Language Models, and AI-Generated Text). Currently, she is an applied data scientist at Microsoft.
