IE Virtual Fintech Day

Join us at our IE Virtual Fintech Day this May 5 & 6, which is a 2-day event held once a year, dedicated to what the Fintech industry has achieved, where it is going and how we can help you develop a career in Fintech. It is an event where we bring together our best fintech professors, outstanding alumni, and top Fintech players to share their knowledge and experience with you. This is an open invite for anyone who is passionate about fintech and wants to learn more. You can join as many sessions as you are interested in!

Hear from Luis Maldonado, Senior Digital Finance Services Specialist of the International Finance Corporation, as he talks about how banks are changing from competing against FinTechs to seeing them as an excellent approach to innovation. Learn from Pablo Soler, ex-BCG Consultant and FinTech investor, as he talks about how Covid19 is speeding up disruption in the Fintech and Finance landscape.

Meet our alumni. Meet Stanley Young (among others!), who graduated from the Dual Degree IMBA + Master in Advanced Finance as he talks about the fintech industry and his experience therein. Stanley is currently the Head of Product Design Coin System at JPMorgan & Chase and previously the leader of Deloitte Southeast Asia's Blockchain Lab. He'd spent two years as CTO at IBM Blockchain for Financial Services globally, and acted as IBM's global Central Bank Digital Currency subject matter expert. Across a varied career, he had led the conceptualization, research and realization of the MAS' (Monetary Authority of Singapore) central bank digital currency project for cross border payments. He was the MAS' specialist leader in blockchain and distributed ledger technology projects using Corda, Hyperledger and Ethereum. He played an instrumental role in developing the Smart Financial Strategy for Singapore’s financial sector with Deloitte Consulting. Learn about career opportunities in Fintech. 2:30-3:00 pm Talk by Current Student.  Learn from Guillermo Liebelt about the different Fintech core classes and electives offered and why you should do your specialization in Fintech & Financial Analytics. Hear about the Fintech Club he started and the upcoming events they have.   

3:00-3:30pm Presentation  by Careers. Learn about the different career opportunities in Fintech and the market outlook from the Head of Finance of our Talent & Careers Department, Javier Tordable.  

3:30-5:00pm Masterclass. Banks and Fintech Partnerships by Senior Digital Finance Services Specialist of the International Finance Corporation and IE Fintech Professor, Luis Maldonado.  

5:00-5:30 Alumni Spotlights. Learn about the Fintech industry by Master in Finance alumni, Stanley Young, Head of Product Design Coin Systems in JP Morgan
