Agility: Leading in uncertain times, resilience, experimentation

Change is constant and is everywhere. When all around you is changing, it is important to be aware of your focus and purpose. What are the challenges you face today in focusing on what is important in your day-to-day life and maximizing your productivity? While some challenges present themselves as blockers, we will experiment with practical enablers that allow leaders to impact their context. We build on the circles of concern and influence and exercise proactivity and agility. We draw the picture of our mindware and we look at mindset and how we can move from a knower’s mindset to a growth mindset. Growth mindset is a necessity for leading in uncertain times.

Agile leaders do not come with advice easily. They ask the questions that allow their people to grow. We can practise the various levels of listening and questioning to move people up and improve results. Clarity is what helps us manage uncertainty. Clarity about our goal, clarity in sharing the message and checking others perception before moving forward. How do we recognise and bypass the biases that keep us from being successful as leaders? We can work with the ladder of inference to show that we easily fall short to several biases and behavioural hacks. (Being right, simple story…). We will see how the adaptability quotient (IQ x EQ x CQ x AQ) is the capability to effectively adjust course, across multiple dimensions, at multiple depths and scale, simultaneously.
