Meet the Academic Directors
Raquel Cabero Quiles: Academic Director, Master in Business Analytics & Data Science
Raquel Cabero Quiles combines experience in admissions, analytics, data and commercial strategy across the United States and Spain. She has held leadership roles at IE School of Science and Technology and IE Business School and has worked on data analytics and visualization initiatives for commercial teams. She holds a background in Business Management and Business Analytics & Data Science and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. focused on effective data communication and disinformation. She also represents IE in international academic settings and has delivered masterclasses on technology and data-related topics.
Adrián González Sánchez: Academic Director, Master in Computer Science & Business Technology
Adrián González Sánchez is a Data & AI expert and currently works at Microsoft Spain, where he leads Data & AI initiatives for the public sector and health. His experience spans artificial intelligence, data science, telecommunications, project management and responsible AI. He has also taught internationally and is an author and instructor for platforms including O’Reilly and the Linux Foundation. At IE, he brings extensive industry experience to the intersection of technology, AI and business.
Andrés Alonso Robisco: Academic Director, Master in Financial Technology
Andrés Alonso Robisco is a Senior Economist in the Financial Innovation Division of the Banco de España, where he focuses on developments in financial innovation, including machine learning applications in credit-risk modelling and climate-finance innovation. Previously, he worked at the Single Resolution Board and the Instituto de Crédito Oficial, gaining broad experience across European finance, treasury and capital markets. He also teaches topics including machine learning in credit risk and sustainable finance.
Andrew Whitworth: Academic Director, Master in Financial Technology
Andrew Whitworth is an expert in fintech, digital finance and technology policy. He is the Founder and Director of Global Policy Ltd and a Visiting Fellow at the European University Institute, where he researches the transformation of finance through technology. His previous experience includes senior roles at Ripple, the Bank of England and fintech companies, giving him a distinctive perspective at the intersection of technology, regulation, finance and policy.
